Our family bought Throstle Nest Farm in March 2011 where John an ex farmer could pursue his interest in rare breed sheep. The rest of the family, i.e. mum Margaret, Paula, Joel, our son Jamie and daughter Ella could live out our dream of running a B&B in “The best place in Yorkshire”. Paula after selling her sandwich business, which she ran with Joel would take overall control.
Hence began a mammoth task, the house needed a total refurbishment. Making sure all of the character remained in the farmhouse, we replaced the bathrooms and en-suites with up to date suites and built a new farmhouse kitchen. After a year of replacing all electric and plumbing with up to date efficient solutions, we were ready to welcome our first guests.
